Hiram E. Leonard Diary, July 22 - 28, 1869

“22nd Thursday  cloudy damp weather  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick.

“23rd Friday  rather fine but some cloudy  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick & worne out  Girles went to meeting in ___________?

“24th Saturday  rather fine but cloudy  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick.

“25th Sunday  A fine day some cloudy  I did my choars was round the house all day a choaring & hung out my osage & went and got the mair out of J. F. Pollards paster called at the store & came home wrote some & went to bed about 9 nearly sick  Ed Wright, Elizar Stone & Ann Lahin were here to supper & was pretty wild  All went to meeting in day time & evening [in margin] took mair out of J F Pollards paster at Jersey.

“26th Monday  rather cloudy but some fine  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick  [in margin] Eliza went to Elgin.

“27th Tuesday  rather fine but cloudy  I did my choars was at the office all day came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick.

“28th Wednesday  rather fine for hay a shower at night  I did my choars was at the office all came home at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ sick.”
