Home Visit For Teachers
For Teachers
The Warrenville Historical Museum provides workshops and resources for teachers to assist them in teaching local history units.  Information and activities on the following subjects are available:

  •      town founders - The Warren Family
  •      History of Warrenville Schools
  •      The Potawatomi - Native Americans who camped along the DuPage River
  •      Historic Greek Revival Buildings in the town built in the pre Civil War Era
  •      Early businesses including a sawmill, gristmills and tannery

We will also assist with field trips to:

  •      The Warrenville Historical Museum & Art Gallery
  •      The Warren Tavern
  •      The Warrenville Cemetery
  •      A Walk through Historic Main and Fourth Streets

Materials available for teacher include:

  •      Books on Warrenville History
  •      Children's books on pioneer life and Native Americans
  •      Games of the 1800s
  •      Tapes with songs written about Warrenville History
  •      Primary Resource material such as Civil War diaries, journals, autobiographies and memoirs of town pioneers
