Hiram E. Leonard Diary, October 9 - 15, 1873

9th Thursday  fine dry warm weather  I did my choars choared round the office some closed up about 8 ½ & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick.

10th Friday  fine dry hot weather  thurmometer at 80 & over  I did my choars choared round some closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick  thurmometer stood at 80 degrees above zero & more in middle of day.

11th Saturday  A fine warm dry day for Oct  I did my choars choared round the office some closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick.

12th Sunday  A most beautiful day clear  fine warm  I did my choars choared some at farm & fenced my hay stack etc wrote some etc went to bed about 9 nearly sick & tiered out  Mrs Stone was here, Wardmass came took the bull in my pasture.

13th Monday  A fine cool dry day  I did my choars was round the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed about 9 ½ sick  Mrs Stone went up in the stage at night for Wheaton & then Chicago & ___________ Jonathan F Pollard bought my cow at 30 dols & tuck her.

14th Tuesday  fine cool dry weather  I did my choars was round the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed about 9 ½ tiard & nearly sick with a cold.

15th Wednesday  fine cool dry weather  I did my choars was round the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed about 9 ½ tiard & nearly sick with a cold.”
