Hiram E. Leonard Diary, July 24 - 30, 1873

24th Thursday  fine hot dry weather with some clouds  I did my choars choared round some closed up about 8 ½ & went to bed about 10 tiard & nearly sick etc.

25th Friday  fine hot dry weather quite dry  I did my choars choared round the office some closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed about 10 nearly sick etc  Emma Stone and Wallace went to Elder Potter in the evening to a sociable & got home a few minutes before 11 at night  old Mr Arthur McKellips died today.

26th Saturday  A fine hot day but some cloudy & dry  I did my choars choared round the office some closed up about 8 ½ & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick  Caroline & Emma Stone went to Naperville in the stage & back in afternoon.

27th Sunday  A fine morning with a cool air and a warme dry day with some clouds  I did my choars choared round some up to my place & round the store  wrote some & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick  Arthur McKellips was buried at Naperville this afternoon  Emma Stone went to the funeral with Lucy French they could not carry Caroline.

28th Monday  fine dry weather for the season  I did my choars choared round some in the office closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed about 10 nearly sick with a cold etc.

29th Tuesday  fine dry weather  I did my choars choared round the office some closed up about 8 ½ & went to bed about 10 tiard & nearly sick with a cold & rheumatism.

30th Wednesday  fine dry weather & hot  I did my choars choared round the office some closed up about 8 ½ and went to bed about 10 tiard & nearly sick.”
