“11th Wednesday cool cloudy & verry dry weather I did my choars was round the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 sick with the rheumatism etc.
“12th Thursday fine cool dry weather I did my choars was round the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 sick with the rheumatism & a bad cold Jonathan F Pollard took his cow out of my paster tonight.
“13th Friday A pretty cold windy day & verry dry I did my choars was round the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 nearly sick with the rheumatism Caroline went to Naperville.
“14th Saturday A cold cloudy day & sprinkled in the afternoon & evening I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed about 9 sick with the rheumatism & a cold Jerry Pollard & his wife and Jonathan Pollards wife went to Elgin today.
“15th Sunday A most beautiful day & quite mild I did my choars was at the house all day & went to the farm to fix some fence went to bed about 9 nearly sick with the rheumatism & a cold Elder Button preached at the Baptist Church today Mrs A Fredenhagen had a son this evening _________.
“16th Monday fine winter weather I did my choars was round home all day closed up at 8 and went to bed at 9 nearly sick with the rheumatism.
“17th Tuesday fine winter weather I did my choars was round the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 nearly sick with rheumatism.”
