Hiram E. Leonard Diary, March 11 - 17, 1874

11th Wednesday  fine March weather  I did my choars was round home all day closed up about 8 & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick with a cold etc  Melancthon Ferry was married today to a Miss Carpenter a Mitaner in Aurora.

12th Thursday  fine cool March weather but muddy  I did my choars was round the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick with a cold.

13th Friday  fine weather but roads rough  I did my choars choared round the office some closed up at about 8 & went to bed about 9 ½ tiard & nearly sick with a cold.

14th Saturday  rather a fine day but cool  I did my choars was round the office all day cloased up at 8 & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick with a cold  Caroline & Emma Stone went to meeting Caroline went to Naperville in stage.

15th Sunday  rather a fine day but some cloudy & muddy  I did my choars was round the office all day went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick with a cold  Warren York called here and told me he saw my brother & his family last Monday & they were all well Charles had gone to Connecticut  Caroline went to meeting with Emma Stone  George Sidwell came here on his way to Aurora from William Carpenters.

16th Monday  rather fine weather but muddy and disagreeable getting round  I did my choars was round the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed about 9 ½ sick  Horrace French was married at Elgin to a lady about 30 years old who has worked in the watch factory for several years.

17th Tuesday  rather cool March weather but muddy etc  I did my choars was round the office all day closed up about 8 ½ & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick  J Beardsly M Connell commenced sawing my wood.”
