Hiram E. Leonard Diary, March 18 - 24, 1874

18th Wednesday  A fine warme day but muddy  I did my choars was round the office all day closed up at 8 and went to bed about 10 tiard & sick with a cold  Caroline & Emma went to prayer meeting.

19th Thursday  A cool day some cloudy & muddy  I did my choars was round some the office, closed up at 8 and went to bed about 10 nearly sick worne out  Caroline & Emma went to prayer meeting  School closed today.

20th Friday  A cool raw day & muddy snow squalled & froz during the night  I did my choars was round the office some closed up at 8 & went to bed at about 10 tiard and about sick with a cold etc worne out  Caroline Emma & Walla went to the spelling school & exebition & got home about 10  Frank Beardsley threw a stick or wood & hit Walla on the forehead  Erastus Garys wife was buried today & hurt him.

21st Saturday  A cool raw morning & day with a light flurry of snow & ground frozen a little  I did my choars was round the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed about 10 tiered out & nearly sick with a cold  Caroline & Emma Stone & Walla went to prayer meeting & got home about 10  Dennis Connell & Jerome Beardsly finished sawing my wood  D Dyre was buried today.

22nd Sunday  A cold morning with a light flurry of snow on the ground & the ground frozen a little  A pleasant day with a cool air & muddy  I did my choars went to the other place & did some choars, was round home all day a choaring some went to bed about 10 nearly sick with a cold  Betsy Billings left D Kenyons today.

23rd Monday  Cold raw disagreeable weather roads muddy and bad  I did my choars was round the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed about 9 ½ tiered & sick with a cold  Hurbot Willard went to Daniel Kenyons today to keep house for him.

24th Tuesday  cold raw backward weather for March  I did my choars was round the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick  Emma Anesworth come up to her fathers with her folk & Mother.”
