Hiram E. Leonard Diary, March 4 - 10, 1874

4th Wednesday  damp muddy weather  I did my choars was round the office all day closed up at about 8 & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick  Joseph Lehman and a Miss Pratt from Wayne were married at Geneva in Kane Co. Ill & stayed to Darus Bartholomews over night.

5th Thursday  A cloudy muddy disagreeable day  I did my choars choared round some closed up at 8 & went to bed at 10 nearly sick with cold.

6th Friday  rained some was disagreeable  I did my choars was round the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick with cold  Windy  Emma Stone came up here.

7th Saturday  cold last night & a cool pleasant windy day  the roads verry muddy  I did my choars was round the office all day closed up at 8 and went to bed about 10 tiard & nearly sick with a cold  Emma Stone & Caroline & Willa went to Sherwins to a prayer meeting till 9 ½.

8th Sunday  A fine cool pleasant morning & day ground frozen hard  I did my choars was up to farm to fix some fence at home the rest of the day writing etc & went to bed at about 9 ½ nearly sick with a cold  Emma & Caroline went to meeting.

9th Monday  rather fine weather for March but cool & muddy  I did my choars was round the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick with a cold  Warren York was at my brothers in New Lebanon.

10th Tuesday  fine March weather but muddy  I did my choars choared round some closed up about 8 & went to bed about 9 ½ tiard & nearly sick with a cold.”
