29th Wednesday Mild weather verry muddy I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 and went to bed at 9 nearly worne out with the rheumatism.

30th Thursday cloudy damp weather & verry muddy I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 afflicted with the rheumatism George Sidwell came here Charles Smith & Laura Gary were married today by George Kimball at George Garys.

31st Friday cloudy misty weather & verry muddy I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 nearly sick with the rheumatism very warm for the season.

January 1st, Saturday, 1876 A verry damp cloudy muddy day, the wind blew tremendiously hard the most of the night I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed 9 1/2 Had Pelham & wife, L V Ressequie & wife & Dr Smith here to dinner at about 2 oclock Walter Brown & Lucy & French were married about 4 oclock by Elder Cheny.

2nd Sunday A pretty fine day but some cloudy & verry muddy I did my choars was at home the most of the day and went to bed at 9 afflicted with the rheumatism etc the wind last night blew one sash out of a window in my house on the farm and broak 5 lights glass out & blew some fence down for me & ______ for others Darus Bartholomews wife had her second son born today.

3rd Monday Warm cloudy muddy weather I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 nearly sick with a cold & the rheumatism.

4th Tuesday warm muddy cloudy weather I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 nearly worne out with rheumatism.”
