Hiram E. Leonard Diary, June 8 -14, 1870

8th Wednesday  fine dry weather verry dry but looks like showers  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick & worne out.

9th Thursday  fine hot dry weather but cool nights  I did my choars was at the office a writing the most of the day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick etc.

10th Friday  fine weather with quite a shower the most rain we have had for 3 months  I did my choars was at the office all day writing etc cloased up at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ sick & nearly worne out.

11th Saturday  fine day & dry & looked like showers  I did my choars wrote at store all day closed up at 9 & went to bed 11 ½ sick  Caroline & Wallace went to Dunkard meeting got home at 11 oclock.

12th Sunday  A fine but cool & some cloudy  I did my choars was round the office all day upstairs, went to bed about 1, Caroline went to the farme & back went to bed about 9 nearly sick & worne out, Dunkerd meeting at church a long meeting.

13th Monday  fine hot dry weather verry dry  I did my choars was a choaring round the office above & below all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick & worne.

14th Tuesday  fine hot dry weather for June  I choared round the store all day cloased up at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick & worne out.”
