Hiram E. Leonard Diary, May 22- 28, 1873

22nd Thursday  pretty fine weather & growing time  I did my choars choared round some closed up at 8 & went to bed about 10 nearly laid up with the rheumatism  Mrs Bliss came to Hudsons  Young yew lambed.

23rd Friday  fine growing weather  I did my choars choared round some closed up at 8 & went to bed about 10 nearly sick & laid up with rheumatism.

24th Saturday  fine hot weather  I did my choars choared round some closed up at 8 & went to bed at 10 nearly laid a bed by the rheumatism  Mrs Stone stayed at Stafferds.

25th Sunday  fine growing weather but cloudy  I did my choars & choared round some laid down a while wrote some etc was about sick with a cold & the rheumatism  Willa sheep lambed today.

26th Monday  fine cool growing weather  I did my choars choared round some closed up about 8 & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick with rheumatism & a cold.

27th Tuesday  fine cool weather for grass & small grain but cold for corn  I did my choars etc was round store all day closed up at 8 & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick.

28th Wednesday  fine growing weather except to cold for corn  I did my choars choared round some closed up at 8 & went to bed about 9 ½ sick with a cold & rheumatism.”
