“22nd Wednesday fine weather for Dec ground bair & muddy I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 nearly sick with the rheumatism & a cold Willard Brands wife had a son born tonight or early tomorrow morning being dresed weighed 3 ½# Eleazor Stone came tonight to hold Christmas and get his folks.
“23rd Thursday fine mild weather for December I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 nearly sick etc.
“24th Friday rained in forenoon fine mild & rather warm weather I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 nearly sick etc Frank Hammonds father & mother came to his house to Christmas tonight Hurburt Beardsly & family started for Joliet this afternoon Walter Brown came to Frenches today.
“25th Saturday A cloudy & some muddy day & stormed a little during the night snowed a little & then rained mild for Christmas Frank Hammonds 2 sisters & their husbands & Charles Hammon came to Christmas & they went back at 4 except his father & mother.
“26th Sunday the ground overed with a light snow on the ground & a raining A rainey disagreeable day I did my choars was at home all day writing & choaring went to bed about 9.
“27th Monday fine mild weather but cloudy I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 nearly sick with the rheumatism etc Elezar Stone went home today.
“28th Tuesday the ground quite muddy I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 nearly worne out with the rheumatism Sebe French got home from Iowa & brought Abba & children.”
