Hiram E. Leonard Diary, May 12 - 18, 1875

12th Wednesday  cold dry weather roads good  I did my choars was round the office all day closed up at 8 and went to bed at 9 sick with the rheumatism etc  The same sheep had another lamb & it lived.

13th Thursday  cold dry weather  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 sick with the rheumatism & a cold  Mrs Harlow was buried today in the Warrenville cemetery  Daniel Brown was here today a short time & tomorrow longer.

14th Friday  cold dry weather  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 sick with the rheumatism & a bad cold  Watson planted corn on me today.

15th Saturday  A cold dry day & night  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 and went to bed at 9 sick with the rheumatism  cold & froze  Emma Barrus, Frank Kline & Charlie Barrus went to Bristol.

16th Sunday  A cold pleasant day water frozen in the water tubb this morning  I did my choars was at the house all day went to bed about 9 nearly sick  Folk went to meeting in afternoon & evening  5 wild goslings were hatched out this morning and the Guild sheep had a lambe  Mrs Woolf had a son born tonight  May 17” 4 birth.

17th Monday  fine cool dry weather  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 nearly sick etc  old Mrs Billings had a Bu______ shock light.

18th Tuesday  fine cool dry weather & frost  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 nearly sick with the rheumatism & a cold.”
