Hiram E. Leonard Diary, May 26 - June 1, 1875

26th Wednesday  A fine pleasant growing day  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 and went to bed at 9 nearly sick with the rheumatism etc  Mrs Mollie Sterns sent out tonight about 11 oclock for Doct etc Dr Smith & Mrs Hudson went to Chicago in the stage.

27th Thursday  fine growing weather with some showers  I did my choars was round the office all day closed up about 8 & went to bed about 9 nearly sick with the rheumatism & a cold  Mrs Molly Sterns had a son born about the middle of today weighing 8-1/8# Doct Daniels & Mrs Solomon Williams in attendance, Dr Smith was gone to Chicago.

28th Friday  A showerey day & rained conciderable in afternoon  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 nearly sick with cold etc  Surprise at Elder Coopers this afternoon Cal & Mrs Tart went down with Guild & others & got sprinkled a little.

29th Saturday  A fine day with a cool air  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 nearly sick with the rheumatism & a cold  Took old Nelly & another sheep up to the farm today.

30th Sunday  A fine pleasant day with a cool air  I did my choars was at the house all day except going to the farm after beckfust & choaring some  I went to bed about 9 nearly sick with the rheumatism & a bad cold etc.  Hurbut Hollister was baptised today by Elder Van Osdel at the mill pond.

31st Monday  pretty fine growing weather  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 and went to bed at 9 about sick with the rheumatism.

June 1st Tuesday  fine growing weather  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 and went to bed at 9 nearly sick with the rheumatism & cold  Dennis Connell wagoned.”
