Hiram E. Leonard Diary, October 5 - 11, 1876

“5th Thursday  fine weather for the season  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ afflicted with the rheumatism.

“6th Friday  A fine cool day  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 ½ and went to bed at 9 ½ afflicted with the rheumatism freezes anights.

“7th Saturday  rather fine weather for Oct  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed about 9  nearly sick with the rheumatism.

“8th Sunday  A fine pleasant cool day  I did my choars choared round some went to Nick Colling a little after noon came back about 2 PM choared some & wrote some & went to bed about 9 nearly sick with the rheumatism  Byron McKane & wife & children came here to see Mrs. Tart & took dinner started for home about 4 ½.

“9th Monday  fine cool weather  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed about 9 ½ afflicted with the rheumatism.

“10th Tuesday  fine cool weather freezes anights  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly used up with the rheumatism.

“11th Wednesday  rather fine weather but cold nights  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 ½ and went to bed about 9 ½ about used up with the rheumatism.”
