Hiram E. Leonard Diary, September 21 - 27, 1876

“21st Thursday  rather fine weather but cloudy  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 ½ and went to bed at 9 ½ nearly worne out with the rheumatism etc.

“22nd Friday  A cloudy damp day & looked like rain  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ afflicted with the rheumatism & nuralga etc.

“23rd Saturday  rather a fine pleasant day with some clouds  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ afflicted with the rheumatism  Benjamin Paver came back from running away tonight  They had a Hose & Wheeler meeting tonight at Baptist church  Kenyon mooved to John Pomeroy today Saturday.

“24th Sunday  A cloudy morning but more pleasant during the day  I did my choars was at the office a part of the day went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick with the rheumatism  _______________ was at the house the most of the day  Hannah Netsler Hannah Connell had a daughter born today while her husband was up here after Kate.

“25th Monday  fine cool weather & rather dry  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly worne out with the rheumatism & a cold.

“26th Tuesday  rather cool fine weather  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at about 8 ½ and went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick  Wm Wray got their mair shod today at T W Watsons.

“27th Wednesday  fine cool weather for the season  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 ½ and went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick with the rheumatism.”
