Hiram E. Leonard Diary, December 6 - 12, 1871

6th Wednesday  A winter like day, I did my choars choared round all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 nearly sick.

7th Thursday  A cool day but not terably cold  I did my choars choared round all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 nearly sick.  Caroline came home from Iowa tonight with little Eliza they were nearly sick with colds arrived about 5  old Mrs Brand died about eleven tonight.

8th Friday  A cool fine day  I did my choars choared round all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 nearly sick.

9th Saturday  More pleasant but cool  I did my choars choared round all day closed up at 7 & went to bed at 9 sick.

10th Sunday  A fine pleasant day but cool  I did my choars choared round the house some wrote some etc fixed a window some, went to bed at 9 nearvius   Mrs Brand was buried yesterday and the funeral preached today by Elder McGregor.

11th Monday  pretty fine weather for December  I did my choars choared round the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9.

12th Tuesday  fine weather for the season  I did my choars choared round all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 nearly sick.”
