“23rd Wednesday fine growing weather but hot & a getting dry I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9, had the rheumatism bad.
“24th Thursday fine growing weather but hot & dry I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 and went to bed at 9 nearly sick & had the rheumatism Nelle Curtise started for the East Massachusetts.
“25th Friday fine growing weather but verry hot and a getting dry I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 nearly sick with the rheumatism & a cold thurmometer at from 90 to 100 degrees above zero Mrs Dasenbrook was married.
“26th Saturday fine growing weather & hot & dry I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 nearly sick with rheumatism thurmometer 90 to 100.
“27th Sunday A fine growing day sprinkled some in the forenoon showers around & conciderable wind I did my choars was round home the most of the day went to bed at 9 sick with the rheumatism Jerry Pollard went with me & trimmed my sheeps feet or rather Willis sheep.
“28th Monday fine growing weather I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 oclcok nearly sick with the rheumatism & a cold.
“29th Tuesday fine warm growing weather I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 ¼ & went to bed about 9 nearly sick with rheumatism See the mail carrior got to Naperville tonight.”
