“18th Wednesday fine growing weather but bad for harvesting I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed about 9 nearly sick & tiered out.
“19th Thursday bad weather for stacking some showerey I did my choars was around the office all day closed up at 8 and went to bed at 9 bad with the rheumatism.
“20th Friday rather a fine day but a light sprinkle I did my choars was round the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 badly afflected with the rheumatism.
“21st Saturday A pretty fine day with a light sprinkle in the morning I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed about 9 nearly with the rheumatism Mrs Jane Sprague died tonight about 7 PM had been unconshus since taken F & Hamwell draw Amours cattle to Chicago this afternoon.
“22nd Sunday A cool fine day I did my choars was around home all day went to farm etc wrote & red some went to bed about 9 nearly sick Frank Hammons brother in law was here a trying to spead of his horses & others from Aurora Mrs Fredenhagen was sick all night had two docters had a mishap Mary Connel arrived in Sacramento Cal today & was married this afternoon to a Mr Dawson.
“23rd Monday fine weather for the season I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed nearly sick with the rheumatism etc old Mrs Hollister ________ near the Junction fell & hurt her spine & died to day Mrs Sprague was buried today.
“24th Tuesday fine weather for the season I did my choars was round the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 nearly sick with the rheumatism etc.”
