Hiram E. Leonard Diary, September 15 - 21, 1875
“15th Wednesday pretty fine weather I did my choars was round the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 nearly sick with the rheumatism etc P Beardsly & wife got home from the East today noon in the stage Hurbut Beardsly’s wife had a daugther born 10 olcock tonight.
“16th Thursday grew cold & a cold night I did my choars was round the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 nearly sick with the rheumatism A cold night & a pretty heavey frost. The woman came to Daniel Kenyons today that I bought my horse of & wagon.
“17th Friday A cold day with a heavey frost this morning I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 nearly sick etc.
“18th Saturday rather a cool day I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 sick I bought Williams a mair today of a woman at D Kenyons for $50.
“19th Sunday A cold damp morning had rained during the night A cold rain cloudy day & night I did my choars was round the house the most of the day writing etc went to bed at 9 nearly sick with a cold & the rheumatism.
“20th Monday fine cool weather I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 afflicted with the rheumatism.
“21st Tuesday fine cool weather I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 badly afflicted with the rheumatism.”
