“13th Thursday Disagreeable weather for the season I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at about 9 haveing the rheumatism as usual.
“14th Friday Disagreeable wet weather roads muddy I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 and went to bed at about 9 haveing the rheumatism.
“15th Saturday rather a fine day with a cold air & some squalls of rain I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 haveing the rheumatism.
“16th Sunday rather a fine day with a cool wind & cloudy I did my choars went to the farm & Reynolds came back & was at home the rest of the day writing etc went to bed about 9 badly afflicted with the rheumatism.
“17th Monday rather fine weather but ground wet & cool for the season I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed about 9 afflicted with the rheumatism young goos began to lay today School began today.
“18th Tuesday fine weather but cool & ground went roads agetting better I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 nearly sick as usual George whitewashed the store overhead, farmers plowing & sewing.
“19th Wednesday fine weather but rather cool I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 badly afflicted with the rheumatism etc Georg helped wash.”
