“20th Thursday fine weather but cool roads improoving I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 nearly sick with the rheumatism George commenced cleaning my store shelves worked the most of the day Betsy Connell came home with Perry from Naperville.
“21st Friday pretty fine weather some cloudy & cool I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 and went to bed at 9 afflicted with the rheumatism George cleaned the store shelves the most of the day.
“22nd Saturday rather a fine day some cool & cloudy I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick with the rheumatism & a cold George finished cleaning the store shelves today, Jerry Pollard ____________ my sheep this forenoon. Burnet stayed tonight at Williams or Griffeths.
“23rd Sunday A cool cloudy day with a raw wind from northeast I did my choars was at home the most of the day went to the farm & back went to bed at about 9 nearly sick Wm H Burnett went to Aurora with H Williams & his wife Burnett & wife are to start east from Aurora some time this week Ellen Connell & her husband & Sam Netsly & wife came to Connells young goos began to set.
“24th Monday fine cool weather roads getting good I did my choars was at home all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at about 9 afflicted with the rheumatism etc George about sick.
“25th Tuesday fine cool weather I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed about 9 nearly sick with the rheumatism etc George was a cleaning the store the most of the day.
“26th Wednesday fine cool dry weather I did my choars was at the office all day closed up about 8 & went to bed about 9 troubled with the rheumatism etc George & I moped out the middle of the store.”
