27th Thursday  fine cool dry weather  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed about 9 afflicted about as usual  George was a staining the counters etc.

28th Friday  fine cool dry weather for putting in grain  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up about 8 & went to bed about 9 feeling about as usual  George worked on the counters etc.

29th Saturday  fine cool dry weather  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed about 9 nearly sick with the rheumatism etc  George finished varnishing the counters today before night.

30th Sunday  A fine cool dry cloudy day  I did my choars went to the farm & back wrote some & looked at some  vines & went to bed about 9 sick.

May 1st Monday  pretty fine cool weather roads pretty good  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at about 9 nearly sick with the rheumatism etc.

2nd Tuesday  fine cool cloudy weather  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 and went to bed at 9 nearly sick with the rheumatism  George Sidwell commenced to clean house for Mrs Curtis or J M Warren.

3rd Wednesday  fine weather but cool & cloudy  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 badly afflicted with the rheumatism.”
