“8th Thursday fine growing weather for the season I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 nearly tiered out & sick with a cold T Jones & J Hudson went to Wheaton today & went before the Supervisers today with a Remonstrance to oppose Wm Platt’s getting a lisence for a saloon.
“9th Friday fine hot growing weather I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 tiered out & nearly sick.
“10th Saturday fine growing weather I did my choars was at the office the most of the day fixed some fence closed up & went home a little before 9 went to bed 9 ½ nearly sick Dennis Connell washed Williams sheep this afternoon.
“11th Sunday fine hot growing weather & a shower in afternoon I did my choars choared round some mowed some Jerry Pollard altered my lambs I wrote some at the store & choared round went to bed about 9 nearly sick William Lindsay & wife called to the gate to see me he starts for Ames Iowa tonight.
“12th Monday cloudy rainey day ground verry wet I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 nearly sick with the rheumatism.
“13th Tuesday fine growing weather but rainey & wet I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at 9 nearly worne out with the rheumatism etc.
“14th Wednesday verry rainey wet weather & cool I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 & went to bed at about 9 nearly worne out with the rheumatism etc.”
