Hiram E. Leonard Diary, July 13 - 19, 1876

13th Thursday  pretty good hay weather some cloudy  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly worn out with the rheumatism  My old cow took the bull tonight  Mrs Ann R Fairbanks was verry sick yesterday & today and supposed to of miscarried or lost a child  Mistaken next Wednesday & Thursday.

14th Friday  rather fine hay weather but some clouds  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly worn out with the rheumatism  Watson began a stack of hay today & stacked the orchard.

15th Saturday  A cloudy damp morning & sprinkled a little but was quite a fine hay day  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ sick  Watson stacked hay on my place all day .

16th Sunday  fine hot weather some cloudy  I did my choars was at the house all day the most of the day at the store twice went to bed 9.

17th Monday  fine hot hay weather  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick with the rheumatism.

18th Tuesday  fine hot weather good hay weather  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick with a cold  Watson a haying on mine.

19th Wednesday  fine hot hay weather  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick with the rheumatism  Mrs Ann R Fairbanks was verry sick today & tomorrow & supposed lost a child about 5 months gone.”
