Hiram E. Leonard Diary, July 20 - 26, 1876

“20th Thursday fine hot weather for haying  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at about 8 ½ & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly worne out with the rheumatism  Watson finished haying on my farm about 3 or 4 this afternoon.

“21st Friday  A fine day for haying but a little more cool  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick etc.

“22nd Saturday  rather a fine airey day with some clouds & showers round at a distant  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up about 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly worne out with the rheumatism  Willie & ___________ went to Naperville with potatoes corn & onions.

“23rd Sunday  A verry fine hot pleasant day   I did my choars was at home the most of the day at the store about 2 hours went to bed about 9 ½ about sick. 

“24th Monday fine hot dry weather  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed about 9 ½ about tired out & sick. 

“25th Tuesday  fine pleasant hot dry weather  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 ½ and went to bed about 9 ½ nearly worne out.

“26th Wednesday  fine hot day  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up about 8 and went to bed at 9 ½ tired out & sick.”
