Hiram E. Leonard Diary, July 27 - August 2, 1876

27th Thursday  fine hot dry weather  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 ½ and went to bed about 9 ½ nearly worne out & sick.

28th Friday  fine pleasant hot dry weather  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 ½ and went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick with the rheumatism etc.

29th Saturday  fine hot dry weather  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly worne out & sick with the rheumatism  Lewis Ball wife & Bery came to D Kenyons today & stayed overnight  Dr A W Smith came back from Chicago to stay a week.

30th Sunday  A fine hot dry day  I did my choars was at the house the most of the day at the store about 2 hours went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick  called at Mr Wardenn in evening  Charles T Reynolds was here today & set on my stool where I write & a little book was missing.

31st Monday  fine hot dry weather  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick with the rheumatism.

August 1st Tuesday  fine hot dry weather  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8-3/4 and went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick  I looked to find a small book that R S S Reynolds last account was on or a part of it was on.

2nd Wednesday  fine hot dry weather  I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly worne out & sick with the rheumatism  Lewis Ball & wife & boy went to the railroad with Joseph to go to Chicago.”
