Hiram E. Leonard Diary, July 6 - 12, 1876
“6th Thursday rather fine weather & a pretty good hay day but hot I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 ½ & went home & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick & worne out with the rheumatism.
“7th Friday A fine hay day & verry hot I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick & worne out with the rheumatism.
“8th Saturday A fine day day & verry hot I did my choars was at the offfice all day closed up at 8 ½ & went home and went to bed about 10 near sick & worne out William & Jonathan Pollard went Jerrys & got a bull & turned in to my paster.
“9th Sunday A fine pleasant & verry hot day some clouds I did my choars was at the office 2 or 3 hours and at home the rest of the day a choaring round D Kenyon eat breckfust at my house.
“10th Monday rather hot showerey clouds weather I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick with the rheumatism.
“11th Tuesday A cloudy damp weather I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 ½ and went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick with the rheumatism.
“12th Wednesday cloudy damp day I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 and went to bed sick with the rheumatism.”
