“17th Thursday fine hot dry weather with some clouds I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick with the rheumatism Henry Wyman trimed apple trees for me.
“18th Friday fine dry hot weather I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed at 9 ½ nearly sick with the rheumatism James D Graves was at his fathers called here & went to Dick Reynolds & Jud carried him to Naperville tonight.
“19th Saturday fine hot dry weather I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly sick with the rheumatism.
“20th Sunday A fine pleasant dry day I did my choars was at the house the most of the day called at the office twice a short time went to bed about 9 nearly worne out with the rheumatism.
“21st Monday fine hot dry weather I did my choars was at the office all day closed up about 8 ½ & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly tiard & worne out.
“22nd Tuesday fine dry hot weather I did my choars was at the office all day closed up at 8 ½ and went to bed about 9 ½ nearly worne out & sick.
“23rd Wednesday A verry hot day & night I did my chaors was at the office all day closed up at 8 ½ & went to bed about 9 ½ nearly tiered out & sick the thurmometer stood at about 100 degrees above zero all day & about 90 in the night.”
