Albright Building, 2008 Historic Landmark Ornament

$12.00

Built in 1858 as the Methodist Church, this Greek Revival style building was used by numerous community groups over the years after the Methodists in Warrenville went bankrupt in 1901. When Adam Emory Albright moved to Warrenville in 1924, he bought the building and opened the Albright Studio and Art Gallery which he and his twin sons, Ivan and Malvin, used until Adam’s death in 1957. After housing the DuPage Art League and the Albright Theater, the City of Warrenville acquired the building in 1980 and began renovations with the support of Brooks and Hope McCormick. The Warrenville Museum & Art Gallery opened in one room of the building in 1984 and took over the entire space in 2005.
